Employees in the government and private sectors in Kuwait are entitled to rest periods according to the list of official holidays specified in the Civil Service System and the Kuwaiti Labor Law. The exact date and duration of each of these holidays are determined at the beginning of the year, with the exception of some holidays, such as Eid al-Fitr, the date of which is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon.
